For the third time in four years, Glasgow narrowly missed advancing to the first round of the boys’ state golf tournament as a team.
Last year, Bowling Green beat Glasgow in a team playoff after both teams shot 21-over par through 18 holes. Meanwhile, Rowdy Harris and Glasgow’s Griffin Jackson last year each shot 3-under par at Crosswinds Golf Course to tie for the individual lead through 18 holes. Harris won the individual title after a one-hole playoff. In 2023, Glasgow finished one stroke behind Greenwood for second in the tournament.
This year, Glasgow finished one stroke behind Greenwood for second, and Jackson fell to Harris in a two-hole playoff. They both shot 2-under par through 18 holes to finish tied for first. Bowling Green won the team title.
Jackson advanced to the first round of the State Championship that is next week at Bardstown Country Club (Maywood).
The top two teams and the top 10 individuals not on one of those teams advance to the first round of state.
Barren County’s J.P. Ross shot 77 and is one of the 10 individual qualifiers. Glasgow’s Jackson Norris shot 78. He is the alternate qualifier if another qualifier drops out.
