Don Renfro, age 84, of Chalybeate, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at TriStar Centennial Hospital in Nashville, Tennessee. The Edmonson County native was born on July 13, 1942, to the late Conard and Eva June Renfro. He shared a lifetime of love and devotion with his wife and best friend, Carlene Webb Renfro, who survives.
Don was a hardworking man whose life was built on faith, family, and honest labor. He began his career alongside his father, uncles, and cousins at Renfro Brothers Plumbing, learning the plumbing and electrical trade while working shoulder to shoulder with those he loved. Those years not only taught him a profession but also instilled in him the values of integrity, dependability, and dedication that would define his life. He later proudly owned and operated the family business, earning the respect of countless people throughout the community.
While Don enjoyed fishing in his younger years, his greatest joys were found in caring for his family, serving the Lord, and working to provide for those he loved. He was known as a good, honest, and humble man whose word could always be trusted. His Christian faith was the foundation of his life, and he served as a deacon and devoted member of Poplar Spring United Baptist Church for many years, remaining active as long as his health permitted
Left to cherish a lifetime of precious memories are— his devoted wife, Carlene Renfro; the son he loved beyond measure and was so incredibly proud of, Tim Renfro (Karen) of Coral Springs, Florida, whose faithful love and constant presence brought great comfort as he cared for his father throughout his illness; his beloved grandchildren, Allon Renfro (Leah), Megan Lowe (Nick), Spencer Renfro (Ann Chaney), Jack Renfro, and Madi Renfro; his treasured great-grandchildren, Emma Lowe, Ava Renfro, Addison Lowe, James Renfro, Aiden Lowe, and Eleanor Renfro; along with several cousins, extended family members, dear friends, and neighbors who will remember him with love and gratitude.
He will be laid to rest beside his beloved parents in Beaver Dam United Baptist Church Cemetery.

Funeral service will be noon, Wednesday, July 29 at Poplar Spring United Baptist Church. Visitation Tuesday, July 28, will be 4 to 7 p.m. at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. Wednesday visitation from 10 a.m. until noon will be at the church.
