Kenneth Simmons, Fountain Run

May 1, 2026 | 8:32 AM

Kenneth Simmons, 86, of Fountain Run, KY passed away Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Signature of Monroe in Tompkinsville, KY. Kenneth took great pride in his work as a foreman with the South Central Rural Telecommunications Cooperative. He often shared stories of his days climbing telephone poles and considered his co-workers as an extension of his family. A devoted husband of more than fifty years, Kenneth shared a loving marriage with his wife, Sue. Together, they built a life centered on family and raised their three children in the community they cherished. Fountain Run was his home and his heart, and he often said there was no finer place to be. In his later years, Kenneth could often be found enjoying a meal and the company at Flapper’s Market or Nannie Jo’s. He especially treasured his role as “Pa” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy. Kenneth will be remembered for his love of farming, his gift for storytelling and humor, and, above all, his deep devotion to his family.

He is survived by 1 son:  Billy Simmons and wife, Christy, Fountain Run, KY;

1 daughter:  Kendra Simmons, Scottsville, KY;

1 brother:  Leon Simmons and wife, Linda, Columbia, KY;
