Apr 27, 2026 | 8:10 AM

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Leslie Lynn Williams, affectionately known as Lynn, who departed this world on April 21, 2026, at the age of 77. Lynn passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, warmth, and cherished memories that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

Born on September 19, 1948, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Lynn was the cherished daughter of Douglas and Faye (Dolly) Brashear. She grew up in a home filled with love, where she learned the values of generosity and compassion that she carried throughout her life. Lynn’s journey began in Bowling Green, where she graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1966. It was there she met her high school sweetheart, James Barry Williams, known as Barry. They married in 1965, embarking on a beautiful journey together that spanned an incredible 60 years, until Barry’s passing.

Lynn was a dedicated mother to her son, Jim Williams, who, along with his wife Melodi, carries forward her enduring spirit. She also leaves behind her brother, William Brashear (Karen), and sister-in-law Julie Haviland, who, along with many friends and extended family, mourn her loss deeply. Lynn had three grandchildren, Luke Williams, Jamie Williams, and Jordon Kline (Kevin), all of whom made her spirit soar with pride.

Lynn’s professional life was in local banking, where she worked from 1972 until her retirement in 2024. Her bank work family meant the world to her for their friendship. Beyond her career, Lynn was a member of the Eastwood Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light. She was also involved in numerous other non-profits that served the community, as well as supporting her husband’s involvement in charities from behind-the-scenes.  And of course, anyone who knew her knew of her love and support for the Lady Toppers basketball program over the years.

A true lover of life, Lynn found joy in the simple pleasures. She was an avid cook, with her strawberry butter becoming a renowned delicacy among friends and family. Her love for animals was profound, extending beyond her own pets to any strays and wildlife that found their way to her rural home. Her home was a sanctuary, adorned with countless Santa Clauses and antiques, reflecting her deep appreciation for the past and her family heritage.

Lynn is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Barry Williams, her mother and father, Dolly and Douglas Brashear, and brother-in-law Steve Haviland.

A service to honor Lynn’s life will be held on May 9, 2026, at 12:00 PM at the Hardy & Son Funeral Chapel in Bowling Green, with visitation preceding from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Bowling Green-Warren County Humane Society, an organization close to Lynn’s heart, at https://www.bgshelterpets.com/donate.html .

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all friends and Lynn’s dear friends for their unwavering support, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time. As we remember Lynn, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and an unyielding commitment to others. Her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
