Glasgow’s Pride Festival is set to return to Beaver Creek Park this spring, marking the third year for the community celebration.
Glasgow Pride, which is the organization putting on the event, announced the event is scheduled for May 31.
The festival is a growing landmark event for the LGBTQ+ community, their families, and allies across South Central Kentucky, according to a Glasgow Pride press release. This year’s theme — “Small Town, Big Pride!” — is intended to highlight the group’s goal of building a community where every resident feels safe, seen, and celebrated.
“Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone can thrive authentically,” Laura Burks, Glasgow Pride’s director of marketing, said in a prepared statement. “By bringing the festival back to Beaver Creek Park, we are continuing to build a tradition of joy and equity right here in Barren County.”
The celebration will feature local food trucks, informational vendors, and community resource booths throughout Beaver Creek Park. Live entertainment from a diverse lineup of local performers is also planned for the festival, which is billed as a full-day community gathering, according to the release.
The event is designed to be family-friendly, with activities for all ages, according to the press release.
Glasgow Pride is also seeking informational vendors, food and drink vendors, volunteers, and sponsors who want to support the event and the organization’s mission. Interested participants are being directed to application forms and sponsorship tiers available through the group’s website and email contact.
