Charles William Rice, age 83 of Cave City, KY, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Signature Health Care of Hart County. He was a member of Woodsonville Baptist Church, where he was a Deacon, former chairman of the Deacon Board, Sunday School Superintendent, and past treasurer. He was a lifelong farmer and retired from Eaton as a machine operator.
He was the son of the late Leroy Rice and the late Bessie Whitlow Rice.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Rogenia Rice; three brothers, Roy Rice Jr., Eddie Joe Rice, and Johnny Rice.
Charles is survived by two sons, Rodney Rice (Kimberly), Cincinnati, OH, and Rondal Rice, Cave City, KY; three grandchildren, Jasmine Wood, Caleb Rice, and Taelyn Rice; one great-grandchild, Solána Spencer; two sisters, Edna Hector, Louisville, KY, and Alice Mildred Estes, Horse Cave, KY. Sister-in-laws Daisy Rice, Marion, IN; Betty Rice, Cincinnati Ohio; Mary Green (Carl Green), Cave City KY; Phyllis Jones, Glasgow KY; Virginia Barlow, Glasgow KY; Josephine Barlow, Anchorage Alaska; Edward Barlow (Wanda Barlow), Clinton Maryland; Frankie Barlow, Glasgow KY; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
The family will welcome friends from 10:00 AM- 12:00 PM CT on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Owens Chapel Baptist Church in Cave City, KY. A home-going service will be held at 12:00 PM CT on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Owens Chapel Baptist Church with Dr. Michael Rice and Rev. K.T. Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Woodsonville Memorial Gardens. Brooks Funeral Home in Munfordville, KY is assisting the family with arrangements.
