Murrell Travis Copas, Gamaliel

Mr. Murrell Travis Copas, age 61, of Gamaliel, Kentucky, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at the Monroe County Medical Center. Murrell was born in Tompkinsville on April 27, 1964, a son of Wayne Marrs and Pansy Christine (Dyer) Copas. He worked for Stitches for several years and enjoyed farming and woodworking. Murrell was a 1982 graduate of Tompkinsville High School.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of twenty-five years, Patricia Gravins Copas, two daughters, Nikki Moss and husband Josh, of Moss, Tennessee, and Brittany Ford and husband Nathan of West Virginia, step-son, Chris Brady of Moss, Tennessee, brother, Randy Copas and wife Debbie, of Gamaliel, three sisters, Marcella Eades and husband Randall, of Moss, Tennessee, Gloria Arterburn of Hermitage Springs, Amy Graves of Tompkinsville, five grandchildren, Katie, Keely, Isaac, Waylon and Destiny. Several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends also survive.

He was preceded in death by a niece, Gabriella Doolin.

A viewing and visitation with the family will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Bartley & Sons Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, with cremation to follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Funeral Home to assist with final expenses.

Bartley & Sons Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Copas and his family at this time.
