Mrs. Mary Fortner, 73, of Glasgow, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2026, at Shanti Niketan Hospice House.
Mary was born on January 10, 1953, in Rye, NY, to the late John Dupree and Mary Cooley Dupree.
Mrs. Fortner was a retired marketing director at Circol Builders Inc. She was an avid traveler. Her exercising included walking, hiking, and riding her bike. She truly loved the outdoors and gardening. Roses were her favorite. Family was special to her, and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a wonderful cook. Mary was an organizer and loved getting people together and having dinner parties.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Timothy Fortner; son Jonathan Fortner; daughters Lara Shastry (Anirudh) and Emily Kissel (Jacob); five grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Hayes Brothers Funeral Home Glasgow assisted the family with arrangements.
