Freddie Andrew “Cotton” Firkins, 69, of Edmonton, KY, passed away Sunday, March 22, 2026, at his residence. He was born in Edmonton, KY, on March 2, 1957, to the late Ovie and Shirley Gardner Firkins.
Mr. Firkins was an avid University of Kentucky basketball fan and enjoyed shooting pool, riding his motorcycle, and listening to rock ‘ n ‘ roll music. But what he enjoyed most was spending time with his loving family and friends.
Survivors include his wife Patty Smith Firkins of Edmonton, KY; two children Connor and Kaylee Firkins both of Edmonton, KY; six siblings Ricky Firkins (Donna), Steve Firkins, Timmy Firkins (Cindy), Allen Firkins (Penny) and Vickie Firkins all of Edmonton, KY and Rusty Firkins of Summer Shade, KY; his father and mother-in-law Louis “Wood” and Betty Smith of Edmonton, KY; a sister-in-law Peggy Humphrey (Bryan) and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home with burial in the Firkins Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday after 10:00 am at Jessie-Wilson Funeral Home.
Bro. Johnny Hubbard will be officiating, and pallbearers will be Matt Firkins, Nick Firkins, Jonathon Firkins, Shawn Firkins, Shawn Shaw, and Jason Abston. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Oakes, Ronnie Oakes, Donnie Turner, Alan Francis, Justin Branham, Steve Bragg, Tracy Wilson, Matt Fields, and James Dyer, Harold Page, and James Syra.
