One person was injured and traffic was disrupted after a two-vehicle crash on Happy Valley Road in Glasgow on Wednesday afternoon.
The collision happened near the intersection of Happy Valley Road and Lexington Drive and led to lane closures as emergency crews responded.
A preliminary investigation showed that a 2015 Chevy Cruze driven by a 16-year-old juvenile pulled out from the Ely Drugs parking lot, according to a Glasgow police press release. The juvenile was driving straight across Happy Valley Road toward Lexington Drive when she failed to see a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander traveling westbound on Happy Valley. The vehicles then collided. Police identified the Outlander’s driver as Eilain Lazarus.
Lazarus was transported by Barren-Metcalfe EMS to T.J. Community Samson Hospital for treatment of her injuries, according to the release. No other injuries were reported.
Two lanes of Happy Valley Road were closed while officers investigated and crews worked to clear the scene, causing delays for drivers in the area.
The collision was investigated by Officer Patrick Wade and he was assisted at the scene by Barren-Metcalfe EMS and the Glasgow Fire Department.
