Barren opens tennis season against Greenwood

Barren County opened its tennis season this week against one of the top programs in the Fourth Region. Along with taking on Greenwood, Barren’s tennis teams were without several players who are still playing basketball.

The Trojans lost to the Gators, 5-0. Hayden Coomer fell to Ethan Propp, 6-1, 6-1, while Kaden Rush lost to Luke Lihn, 6-0, 6-1, and Mavric Payne fell to Jake Doden, 6-0, 6-0. In doubles, Alex Taylor and Austin Emerson fell to Tyler Sherrod and Barrett Zies, 6-0, 6-0, and Cameron Price and Will Mauser fell to Shepard Kutz and Sawyer Kutz, 6-0, 6-0.

In the girls’ match, Barren fell, 5-0. In singles, Lauren Neville lost to Addison Hales, 6-0, 6-0, while Taylor Uhles fell to Julianne Ashby, 6-0, 6-0, and Rebecca Boone dropped her match, 6-1, 6-1, to Laura Parkertson.

In doubles, Aleigha Nuetzman and Brooklyn Wright lost to Merdy Law and Madison Law, 6-0, 6-0, while Bailey Stinnett and Reagan Embry fell to Abbie Byrd and Madison Sherrod, 6-0, 6-1.
