The cool, overcast days of October set the perfect backdrop to the opening of the “One More Chapter” bookstore in Cave City.

Taylor Ferrell, owner of the bookstore and currently its sole employee, radiated excitement as she spoke about the store’s first day of business. “We’ve had 13 customers so far, which since it’s just me here that’s about perfect,” she laughed.

The store was a far cry from the bare walls and shelves of the first time Glasgow News 1 reported on its opening. Ferrell spoke on receiving her first stock shipment on Oct. 3 and how her ardor grew with each book arranged.

While patrons can visit the store now, a ribbon-cutting ceremony is to be held Friday, Oct. 18 to spotlight the energy put into the budding business. The event will begin at 11 a.m. and is open to the public, and will be held at 508 Broadway Street in Cave City.

As one would expect the walls were packed with literature, with tables along the middle spotlighting works that were seasonally appropriate. (Gage Wilson/For Glasgow News 1)

For the indecisive reader, the store offers a “blind date with a book” which are wrapped books with vague descriptions of the books contents. (Gage Wilson/For Glasgow News 1)

Adorning the tables were fall themed crochet works handmade by Ferrell’s longtime friend Hannah Slagle. (Gage Wilson/For Glasgow News 1)
