Jaylin Craine is the boys’ Fifth Region Player of the Year. The Caverna point guard has led the Colonels to a 20-6 overall record while averaging 16.7 points per game and five rebounds this season.
Teammate Tyson Martin has also been named to the Fifth Region Coaches Boys All-Region Team. He is averaging 8.6 rebounds and 12.3 points this season. Both Craine and Martin are all-region players for a second consecutive season.
The Colonels close the regular season Thursday night at home against Metcalfe County. They open the 18th District Tournament at home Tuesday against Hart County.
Paul Childress at LaRue County was voted coach of the year. First-year Caverna coach Josh Pittman received votes for coach of the year in the region.
