Barren County used a suffocating defense and dead-eye shooting from downtown to roll over Clinton County, 62-23, on Friday night.
The Trojanettes jumped ahead 12-3 in the first quarter. They posted a 23-2 run in the second period to lead 35-5 at halftime.
Barren’s defense continued to shut down Clinton’s offense in the third period, which led to a 16-8 advantage. The Trojanettes’ lead was 51-13 after three quarters.
Addy Slagle led Barren with 16 points, while Mahalia Burton added 14. The Trojanettes hit 11 3-pointers in the game, which was half of their total field goals made.
The Trojanettes improved to 24-2 overall. The win was number 12 in a row.
Barren hosts Greenwood on Monday. Tip time is set for 6 p.m.
