Mahalia Burton and Addy Slagle stepped up to lead Barren County over Cumberland County, 63-49, on Tuesday night. The Trojanettes’ leading scorer, Shelby Byrd, picked up two fouls in the first quarter and missed a large chunk of the first half.
Burton and Slagle each scored 17 points to lead Barren, while Byrd finished with 13, in a game that featured two of the top teams in the Fourth Region.
The Trojanettes led 18-14 at the end of the first quarter, and 33-25 by halftime. Barren posted a 12-7 advantage in the third quarter to lead 45-32 after three.
The victory was No. 20 for the Trojanettes this season. They are now 20-2 overall.
Barren County is back in action tonight at Franklin-Simpson at 6 p.m.
