RECAP: Trojans ground Eagles in 2OT, 79-70

Barren County survived double overtime at Campbellsville on Monday to break a six-game losing streak. The Trojans outscored the Eagles 15-6 in the second OT to secure a 79-70 win.

Barren built a big lead in the third quarter before Campbellsville rallied with a 27-16 run in the fourth quarter. The game ended regulation tied 59-all.

The Trojans trailed 14-8 at the end of the first quarter. Over the next two periods, they outscored the Eagles 35-18 to lead 43-32 headed into the fourth quarter.

Each team scored five points in the first overtime. In the second extra period, Cameron Pippen hit a big corner 3 to set Barren on a course to victory. The Trojans sealed the win at the foul line.

Gavin Hunn led Barren with 23 points, while Kade Hardy added 19, Pippen scored 14 and Weston Shelton finished with 13.

Barren returns to action Friday at Glasgow in a critical 15th District showdown. The game tips about 7:30 p.m.
