Progress is being made on the new Barren County Judicial Center.

During the Project Development Board meeting on Jan. 14 Alliance Corporation Executive Vice President and Chief Operation Officer Tim Geegan said the rammed aggregate piers that were discussed at the last board meeting had been installed and concrete was beginning to be poured.

“Concrete has hit the job site,” Geegan said. “There’s a lot to pour before much else happens.”

“Things are going well,” he added.

Geegan did mention briefly that the current weather was less than ideal for setting concrete, and hopes it will clear up.

Board members also approved a disbursement of $289,398.37. Capital Construction Project Coordinator Dan Peffer told Glasgow News 1 that the disbursement includes payments to both the construction manager and the architect.

The new judicial center was authorized by the Kentucky General Assembly in 2020.
