Glasgow Independent Schools received a “clean” audit for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2025, according to a report presented by Ryan Mosier and Lane Norris of Campbell, Myers and Rutledge. The audit was covered during the district’s board of education meeting on Monday, Jan. 12, in the CO2 Boardroom located in the old South Green Elementary library.
“Long story short, you’ve got a healthy set of books,” Mosier said. “It’s a clean opinion. It’s the best you can get.”
Instructional Supervisor Tara Martin presented to the board about the recently released state accountability data and the district’s plan to improve student learning.
“In all of those content areas we saw — at the district level — an increase in those proficiency scores with the exception of writing at the elementary level,” Martin said. “It stayed the same compared to last year, but we saw an increase in all those other content areas.”
Reading and math continues to be a priority across the district. Martin said they are in the second year of implementing new reading curriculum for kindergarten through the fifth grade, and new math curriculum through eighth grade.
“At the elementary level, we’re always reviewing and revising and updating our Reading Improvement Plans, working on supporting those students who do not have proficiency in reading,” Martin said. “We’re also working on a District Writing Plan, so that we can provide some guidance and support to our teachers.”
The school district honored board members in celebration of Board Recognition Month. Superintendent Chad Muhlenkamp thanked them for all of the time they dedicate to the district and community.
“Thank you for the timeless effort that you all put in representing the district,” Muhlenkamp said. “It doesn’t go unnoticed, and we appreciate all that you all do and the time that you give to make the district the best possible.”
