A portion of Oil Well Road will be closed to traffic for an undetermined amount of time as necessary repairs are made.
Glasgow-Barren County Emergency Management stated that Oil Well Road at the Skaggs Creek bridge will be closed to all through traffic beginning Monday, Jan. 5., so contractors can begin “preparations and repairs to the bridge approach.”
The length of the closure is undetermined and will depend on the weather, according to the agency.
“Thank you for your understanding, and we apologize for any inconvenience this closure may cause,” emergency management stated.
At the Nov. 17 county transportation committee, chair Tim Coomer recommended a $204,000 bid to repair the approach submitted by Bluegrass and Associates. The Barren County Fiscal Court accepted the bid during its Nov. 18 meeting.
Oil Well Road is south of Glasgow and connects Pritchardsville Road with Austin Tracy Road.
