Heading into 2026, Randy Burns is optimistic about the Trinity Rehabilitation Center at Samsonville Square.
“I believe 2026 will be a big year for the T.J. Community Mission Foundation,” said Burns, who is the foundation’s executive director.
Being the second capital project of the T.J. Community Mission Foundation, the 3,200 square-foot rehabilitation center will provide real-world experiences, like a functional kitchen, a restaurant and a grocery store. It is planned to be located at the T.J. Health Pavilion in Glasgow, according to prior reporting.
Roughly half of the necessary $780,000 has either been pledged or donated already, according to Burns. Construction will not begin until the foundation has at least half of the funds and the whole amount pledged, however he is optimistic that construction will begin in 2026.
“We’re roughly about half way there,” Burns said. “Once we reach the point where we have 100 percent pledged for the project and we have 50 percent in house, which we’re almost at, we’ll go ahead and start construction. Once we start construction we’ll build the whole thing.”
“I’m very optimistic that at some point during 2026 we’ll have all the money raised for Samsonville Square,” he added. “I feel very optimistic that we’re in a good position to be able to, hopefully, start construction within the next year.”
Burns said the donations have come from personal gifts, employee donations and from the Hometown Showdowns, which in 2025 raised over $55,000.
The Trinity Rehabilitation Center at Samsonville Square was announced during the 2023 lip sync battle.
