Audrey Nuetzman, a freshman at Barren County High School, was recently recognized by the Barren County Schools Board of Education for her accomplishments on the cross country team.
She was selected by the 4th Region Athletic Director’s Association as the Cross Country Girls’ Athlete of the Year.
Robert Bauer, principal of the Trojan Academy, said this is a “tremendous accomplishment,” adding that Nuetzman won two races this season and “improved every single race.”
Bauer said the freshman set a personal best 5K finish, coming in under 20 minutes.
Nuetzman’s success on the course extends to the classroom.
“She is an all-star student for us,” the principal said. “Honors classes. AP Student. All A’s, and she is a leader.”
Bauer said they are grateful to have her at Barren County, and she has “set the bar extremely high right out the gate.”
