Two educators from North Jackson Elementary were recognized by the Barren County Schools Board of Education during its meeting last week at the district’s central office.
Instructional Assistant Karrah Boles was named the Classified Employee of the Month, and music teacher Shelby Boggs was honored as the Certified Employee of the Month.
North Jackson Principal Leah Kate Pniewski said Boles exemplifies “the true spirit of teamwork at North Jackson.”
“Karrah shows up in every single sense of the word,” the principal said. “Your work ethic is unmatched.
“Your commitment to our littlest Jaguars is evident in every interaction.”
What makes Boles truly shine, “is the way that she partners with teachers, students and families to create safe and joyful structured spaces where every single child can grow — especially when working with our special needs students,” Pniewski said. “Karrah brings patience, presence, intuition and a deep sense of collaboration.
“You can read the room. You step in before you’re asked. You anticipate the needs and you support students in a way that honors their dignity.”
The principal said Boles is definitely a team player, and her coworkers have taken notice.
“You’re the teammate everybody wants — the one who shows up, lifts others up, makes the whole team stronger just by being a part,” Pniewski said. “It makes a real difference every single day and we’re very happy you’re a Jaguar.
“We love that you accept the responsibility, the joys and all the challenges equally. You’re a consistent and reliable presence in the lives of those who need you the most.”

Pniewski said Boggs is a valuable member of the staff.
“She embodies the very best of creative thinking at North Jackson,” Pniewski said, adding that she balances “musical rigor” and “childhood wonder” as she instructs 500-plus students “with patience and magic, showing our students what it looks like to create art and beauty no matter what the obstacles may be with the help of some friends.
“You make North Jackson shine brighter and we are so incredibly proud that you continue to choose to be a Jaguar.”
