Two Glasgow High School employees were recognized during the Glasgow Independent Schools Board of Education meeting on Monday, Dec. 8, at the high school.
Choir Director Sarah Shepherd and Food Service Manager Shelley Wisdom both received the Inspiring Greatness award for their contributions to the school.
Glasgow High Principal Joey Norman said Shepherd is “always a positive energy” around the building.
“Sarah does so many things behind-the-scenes that so many people don’t know,” Norman said, adding that when he first took his current position, he had heard — over and over — how good the productions were at Glasgow. And when he finally saw one in person, he was blown away by the talent of the students.
The principal went on to say that Shepherd does an amazing job preparing her students for the spotlight, where they are truly able to shine.

Norman also spoke about Wisdom, who was unable to attend Monday’s meeting — though she was presented with the award on Tuesday.
The cafeteria is “an important cog to the school,” he said, and Wisdom plays a pivotal role in its success.
“No matter what we throw at her, she’s always rolling with it,” Norman said. “She’s always coming to us with ideas, and she’s willing to do whatever she can to help our kids.”
Norman said Wisdom is always looking out for the students, making sure they always have what they need while also establishing great connections with them.
“Very, very proud to have her as part of my team.”
