Glasgow Independent Schools improved overall compared to the previous academic year, according to the Kentucky Department of Education that recently released its school assessment data for the 2024-25 year.
In 2023-24 the elementary, middle and high schools received a “yellow” overall performance rating. However, during the 2024-25 academic year, the schools within the district had an overall rating of “green,” which is a step up from the yellow rating they previously received.
“I’m delighted with the overall results for our district,” said Superintendent Chad Muhlenkamp. “We achieved a Green rating at all levels, which I believe reflects the diligent efforts of our students and staff. As we move forward, I’m thrilled about the opportunity to build upon this success by creating authentic learning experiences and nurturing our students’ growth. Our students are more than just test scores; this is one aspect of our comprehensive approach to ensuring they receive a learning environment that equips them to pursue their goals and dreams.”
“I am excited about our district’s green rating as this is a result of the hard work, dedication and efforts of our students and staff,” added Supervisor of Instruction Tara Martin.
The ratings used by the department begins at red, which is the lowest performance grade, then increases to orange, yellow, green and, the highest rating, blue.

The high school also received a green rating in quality of school climate.
In the two categories specific to high schools — graduation rate and postsecondary readiness — Glasgow High School received a green rating in both.
Glasgow Middle School
Glasgow Middle School earned a green overall rating, a blue for reading and mathematics, a blue in science, social studies and combined writing, and a green rating in the quality of school climate and safety category.
