Janice Ruth Craft Parrish, 76 of Burkesville, Kentucky, died Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at her residence. She was born in Bull Ridge Community of Cumberland County, Kentucky on Wednesday, June 29, 1949, a daughter, of Goethal Holland & Lucy Dorothy (Hopper) Craft. She was of the Methodist faith and a faithful member of Highland Chapel Methodist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and excellent cook, she found great joy in caring for and spoiling the many children she babysat.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip R. Parrish, whom she wed on Saturday, June 26, 1976; siblings, Kenneth Craft, Willie Fayette “Bill” Craft, Pamela Fannie Craft, and sister-in-law, Margie Cash Craft.
She is survived by her children, Monica Amelia (& Scott) Landers of Louisville Kentucky, Valerie Victoria (& Bro. Terry) Shelley, of Burkesville, Kentucky; siblings, Preston (& Carolyn) Craft of Burkesville, Kentucky, Jackie Stella (& Jerry) Bryant, of Marrowbone, Kentucky; sisters-in-law, Judy Craft and Novella Craft both of Burkesville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Parker Shelley, Karma Shelley and Nicole Shelley.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at 11:00 A.M in the Memory Chapel at Norris-New Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Friday, November 14, 2025 beginning at 5:00 P.M. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Burial will be in the Burkesville Cemetery in Burkesville, Kentucky.
