As the first snowfall of 2025 falls, its no surprise that the National Weather Service in Louisville has place Barren County in a winter weather advisory.

The advisory is in effect until Nov. 10 at 6 p.m. with up to 1 inch of snow expected during that time, according to the weather service.

“Plan on slippery road conditions,” the service stated. “The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday evening commute. Expect snow showers with brief reductions in visibility. Snow squalls will be possible with near whiteout conditions. Road conditions should begin to improve shortly after snow showers end. Slow down and use caution while traveling.”

There is a 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 2 p.m. with a high temperature around 36 degrees. Tonight the low will be around 21 degrees, the service stated. Veterans Day will be mostly sunny with a high of 47 and possible wind gusts as high as 22 miles per hour, according to the service.
