Glasgow, state police to conduct checkpoints during November

Glasgow police will be conducting traffic safety checkpoints during the month of November.

The checkpoints begin on Nov. 7 and last until Nov. 30, according to a Glasgow police press release. Locations will include Columbia Avenue, West Main Street, North Jackson Highway and Happy Valley Road.

During the Safety Checkpoints, officers will be enforcing laws related to operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs, licensing of motor vehicles and operators, registration and insurance, seat belt and child restraint and motor vehicle equipment violations, the press release stated.

State police also reminds people of their traffic safety checkpoints, which are used to “provide for a high visibility [and allow them to] periodically concentrate [their] efforts in checking for violations of Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws,” a state police press release stated.

Barren County checkpoints include:

  • U.S. 31W at the Edmonson County Line
  • U.S. 31W at the Hart County Line
  • U.S. 31W and Ky. 255
  • U.S. 31E and Jack Turner Rd
  • U.S. 68 and Ky. 255 (Bon Ayr)
  • Ky. 70 and Ky. 314
  • Ky. 70 and Ky. 255
  • Ky. 70 and Ky. 740 (Hiseville)
  • Ky. 1846 and Old Lexington Rd
  • Ky. 249, ½ mile South of Glasgow limits
  • Ky. 249 at the Monroe County line
