Former Barren County Trojans Aiden Nyekan scored 13 points for No. 3 Georgetown College on Sunday to help the Tigers stun No. 2 Arizona Christian in Parkville, Missouri. It was a matchup of two of the Top 5 teams in the NAIA that ended with a layup by former Bowling Green Purple Zion Harmon.

Nyekan also grabbed four rebounds and dished two assists in the game. The junior starter is averaging 11 points a game for the 2-2 Tigers.

The Tigers got off to a hot start offensively, sinking five of their first six shots, to take a quick 13-5 lead, their largest lead of the game. Over the next three minutes, the Firestorm chipped away at the Georgetown lead to tie things at 15-15. From there, it was a back-and-forth half with a heavy emphasis on 3-point shooting. In total, nine treys were made in the half as ACU held a 40-39 lead at the break.

It took Georgetown over five and a half minutes in the second half to find the bottom of the net when Darien Lewis broke the silence with a jumper. The Firestorm had built up a 50-41 advantage and led by 10 after a 3-pointer on their next possession. Over the next five minutes, the Tigers slowly wore down the Firestorm defensively and cut it to a single-possession game with a Scotty Browning layup with just under eight minutes to play. Rashad Bishop came up big down the stretch, helping the Tigers score six straight points and build up a four-point lead. Harmon nailed a key layup with a minute to play and then helped rescue the victory with a layup with just two seconds remaining, to give Georgetown the 76-75 win.

The Tigers return home to host Morris College (2-1) on Wednesday.
