RECAP: Scotties rout Bears, 64-12

The Scotties had a score-a-palooza Friday night in Morgantown. Glasgow beat Butler County 64-12 to improve to 7-0 on the season and 3-0 in their district.

It took the Scotties less than two minutes to take the lead for good. Quarterback Hudson Gumm ran 20 yards for a touchdown. Jared Malagon added the extra point.

Glasgow’s next touchdown came on a 47-yard touchdown pass from Gumm to Jerrick Martin. Malagon added his second PAT with 6:35 left in the first period.

The Scotties pushed their lead to 21 to zero on an 11-yard run by Cam Bulle and a Malagon PAT with 4:03 left in the opening period.

Butler County answered that score 48 seconds into the second quarter with a 10-yard pass from Brody Dockery to Cainan Vincent. The extra point kick was blocked and Glasgow led 21-6.

The Scotties rolled off the next 43 points in the game.
Twelve seconds after the Bears’ score, Gumm dropped a pass to Jaylen Bradley who then raced 51 yards to the end zone. Malagon added his fourth extra point kick.

Bulle added his second touchdown with a 16-yard run with 7:47 left in the first half. Malagon added his fifth PAT and Glasgow led 35-6.

The Scotties’ sixth touchdown in the game came on a 47-yard interception return by Grayson Bartley. Malagon nailed his sixth PAT with 6:44 left in the first half.

That score kicked in a running clock for the remainder of the game.

In the third quarter, Gumm connected with Martin on a 41-yard touchdown pass. Malagon added his seventh extra point kick.

Later in the quarter with the second string offense on the field, Jeremiah Moore ran eight yards for a touchdown.

The Scotties’ final touchdown came on a 93-yard shovel pass from Trace England to Kaebran Jones. A two-point conversion gave Glasgow a 64-6 lead.

Butler County added a touchdown with no time left in the game on a one-yard run.

Gumm completed 4 of 5 passes for 159 yards, while England threw for 101 yards.

Martin posted 87 yards receiving, while Bradley had 51, and Jones finished with 104 yards receiving.

Bulle rushed for 40 yards, while Bradley had 24 yards on the ground and Jones finished with 22 yards rushing.

Glasgow has next Friday off. The Scotties host LaRue County on Oct. 17 at 7 p.m.
