RECAP: Scotties pillage Raiders, 35-6

The Glasgow Scotties improved to 2-0 in district play with a 35-6 win over Hart County on Friday night.

The Scotties controlled the game from start to finish, but a huge interception by Jaylen Bradley turned the tide right before halftime.

A few minutes after he picked off the Raiders’ pass in the end zone, Bradley took a short pass from quarterback Hudson Gumm to the end zone on a 91-yard scoring play. Jared Malagon’s extra point kick gave Glasgow a 21-0 lead at halftime.

Before the big interception, Glasgow scored twice in the first quarter.

The Scotties took a 7-0 lead with 9:33 left in the first when Gumm ran 24 yards for the touchdown and Malagon added the PAT.

Bradley added another score in the first quarter on a five-yard run. Malagon posted the extra point and the Scotties led 14-0 at the end of the first quarter.

The Scotties pushed their lead to 27 to nothing with 6:28 left in the third quarter when Gumm hit Jerrick Martin on a 38-yard touchdown pass.

Hart County finally got on the board with 1:21 left in the third period when quarterback Jacob Shoulders rushed 38 yards for the score. The kick failed and the Scotties led 27-6.

Glasgow’s final touchdown came on a six-yard pass from Gumm to Bradley. Martin ran in the two-point conversion to set the final score of 35 to 6.

Gumm had a huge night for the Scotties. He lead the team in rushing with 105 yards. He also completed eight of 11 passes for 179 yards.

Bradley caught four passes for 118 yards, while Martin caught four passes for 61 yards.

Cam Bulle rushed for 36 yards, while Bradley rushed 21.

Glasgow plays at Butler County at 7 p.m. this Friday in another district showdown.
