Chloe Witcher led Barren County to second at the Girls’ Region 3 Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 22. Witcher shot 5-over par, 76 to finish third as an individual.
Caroline Childers of Bowling Green won the individual title at 1-over par, while Kenzie Willen of Cumberland County was second at 2-over par. The Lady Purples won the team title with a 319, while the Trojanettes shot 352.
Glasgow, led by Harlow Bale’s 87, finished sixth as a team. She qualified for the first round of the state tournament next week in Calvert City. Both Bowling Green and Barren County qualified to play in Calvert City as teams. The next 10 individuals other than those on the top two teams make the cut for the first round of state.
After Witcher for Barren, Lucy Zalla shot 82 and tied for sixth, while Alli Spillman shot 95, Karden Kinslow fired 99, and Rayleigh Tarry finished with a 103.
Also for Glasgow, Reese Chaney fired 98, Lucy Kate Stallons shot 118 and Aria Harper finished with a 125.

Barren County coach Casey Edwards was named regional coach of the year, while Witcher and Zalla were named to the all-region team.
