Glasgow evened its season series with Barren County with a 6-2 win Tuesday at home. The Trojans won at home against the Scotties, 4-1, on Aug. 25.
The win muddies the race for the one seed in the upcoming 15th District Boys’ Soccer Tournament. The postseason begins Oct. 4 at Warren East High School. The Scotties are 4-1 in district action with a game left against Warren East on Sept. 22. The Trojans are 2-2 with games left against East on Sept. 18, and Allen County-Scottsville on Sept. 25.
Glasgow opened the scoring Tuesday with a goal by Owen Travis with 18:50 showing in the first half. Logan Gerber answered for Barren two minutes later. The Scotties took the lead for good with a score by Jared Malagon with 3:21 left in the first half. Isaiah Ramos added another goal before the break, and Glasgow led 3-1 at halftime.
Ignacio Garcia Rodriguez pulled the Trojans to within a goal eight minutes into the second half, but the rest of the game belonged to the Scotties. Ronaldo Puldon answered 41 seconds later. Malagon and Ramos each added goals before the end of the match.
