Despite a review of his detention order, Nathan Woodcock of Glasgow will remain in custody pending further action by the U.S. District Court in the Western District of Kentucky.
After Woodcock’s April arrest in Glasgow on numerous child pornography charges, he had an initial detention hearing on July 10 before Magistrate Judge H. Brent Brennestuhl where it was determined that he would remain in U.S. Marshal custody “pending the trial of this action,” previous court documents stated.
In August his counsel, Dennie Hardin, filed a motion to review Woodcock’s detention citing that he is a U.S. citizen with minimal criminal history, has strong family ties, “is willing to undertake the financial responsibility of either a home incarceration order or curfew,” has been employed his entire adult life and is “amenable to any condition or combination of conditions to satisfy the Court, including personally appearing for any court appearances and controlling his conduct while on bond,” according to the filed motion for review.
Woodcock’s review was scheduled for Aug. 21 at 11 a.m. Afterwards Chief Judge Greg Stivers denied his motion to review — and potentially reverse — his detention order, writing, again that “there is no condition or set of conditions…that can adequately protect the community.”
His next court appearance is scheduled for Sept. 24 at 2 p.m., according to his court records.
Woodcock was federally indicted on June 11 on two counts of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.
