Mary Ellen Haynes, age 59 of Leitchfield died Friday, August 8, 2025. The Grayson County native was born on October 8, 1965 to the late Gene and Edna Lindsey Haynes.
Mary was a cheerful cashier at Walmart who treated her customers and coworkers like family. She was a proud member of Radiant Church in Millwood and loved attending services there. In her downtime, she enjoyed playing games on her phone and absolutely adored spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Martha McGuffin (Tony) of Leitchfield, Donna Johnson (Jessie) of Glasgow, Vonnie Lindsey (Brian) of Leitchfield, Crystal Embry of Cave City, Justin Winchell (Noelle) of Leitchfield, Walter Winchell of Leitchfield, Joseph Lindsey of Caneyville and Braxton Haynes of Leitchfield; ten grandchildren and siblings, Willodean Cross, Charles Haynes (Leona), Darrell Glenn (Missy), Debbie Haynes and Donna Riggs.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Edna Lindsey Haynes and siblings, Buck Haynes, Lynn Haynes and Loretta Huff.
Funeral services for Mary Ellen Haynes will be held at 2PM Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel. Visitation from 10AM to 2PM Tuesday at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.
