Brenda Mae Bush Lyle

Brenda Mae Bush Lyle, age 81, of Horse Cave, passed away on Tuesday, March 04, 2025, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow.

Brenda Mae Bush was born in the Northtown Community of Hart County, KY, on September 21, 1943. She was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Pauline (Cline) Bush. Brenda was a 1961 graduate of Caverna High School and a member of the Cave Spring Church in Horse Cave, KY.

Brenda worked as a homemaker during the 60’s and 70’s. In the early 80’s, Brenda won a scholarship for displaced homemakers giving her the opportunity to attend college at Western Kentucky University, which was a dream of hers. Brenda graduated in 1985 with honors from WKU, earning a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology Education.

Brenda worked as a Graphic Artist at Quebecore Imaging formerly known as Brown Printing for sixteen years, and later retired as a Graphic Designer for the Dollar General Corporation. Brenda was a very talented artist who loved to draw and paint. She also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her beloved family and friends. Brenda was an animal lover who loved spending time with her pet cats, and her granddogs.

Brenda is survived by her two loving children: her son, Dennis Lyle and his wife Tylor, of Bowling Green; her daughter, Jennifer Lyle, of Horse Cave. She is survived by two nieces and one nephew: Lauren Bush Petron, Natalie Bush Pannell, and J.J. Bush. She is also survived by one great nephew; Nate Petron and two great nieces; Polly & Claire Pannell. Other than her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by a brother, Gary Gilbert Bush, and a sister, Cheryl Ann Bush.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, March 10, 2025, at Winn Funeral Home, with entombment to follow in the family mausoleum in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Bro. Phillip Trent will officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 5:30PM to 8:00PM on Sunday, March 09, 2025, at Winn Funeral Home, and will continue after 9:00AM on Monday until the time of the service at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the Animal Haven of Hart County in Brenda’s memory, these donations may be left at the funeral home.
