Elmer Clay Turner

Elmer Clay Turner, age 84, of Horse Cave, passed away on Monday, March 03, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Hart County. He was born on June 23, 1940, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, to the late Claude Thomas Turner, and Dortha Lloyd Turner. Elmer attended the Monroe County School, and was a 1958 graduate of Butler High School. He was in the Army Reserves for eight years. Elmer retired from Phillip Morris after 35 years of service, he was an instructor for the Machinist Department. He was very proud that he bowled a 300 game in 1973. Elmer was a Kentucky Colonel, a proud member of the American Quarter Horse Association, and a member of the Soggy Bottom Bluegrass Bunch. He was a member of the Tarpon Springs Methodist Church in Florida.

He is survived by his wife, DiAnn Wurzel Turner; one son, Brian Robert Turner; brothers, Denton Thomas Turner (the late Ann), Edwin Fay Turner (Bonnie); nieces and nephews, Jeff Turner, Amy Gathof, Tammy Lucas, and Sherri Gribbins.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00PM CST / 3:00PM EST on Sunday, March 09, 2025, at Winn Funeral Home, with burial to follow in the Horse Cave Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 08, 2025, from 5:00PM CST to 8:00PM CST, visitation will continue on Sunday after 12:00PM CST until the time of the service at 2:00PM CST. In honor of Elmer, casual and western wear is requested.
