The Caverna Independent Schools Board of Education will convene for its regular monthly meeting on Thursday, Nov. 14, at 5 p.m. at the district’s central office in Cave City.

Key items on the agenda include student and staff recognitions, updates from Superintendent Amanda Abell, and several important action items.

Among the notable agenda items for consideration is the approval of the 2024-25 District Trauma-Informed Plan and a proposed change in pay for the Extended School Services program.

The board will also conduct a first reading of updates to the district’s special education procedures and decide on the surplus of a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan.

Facility upgrades and staffing decisions are also slated for discussion. The board will vote on a change order for the district’s culinary renovation project, which includes adding chain-link fencing, and certify the emergency hiring of both an elementary teacher and a high school psychology teacher.
