On Jan. 10 residents of Barren County will have the opportunity to get rid of their accumulated holiday garbage.
“We understand the frustration of not knowing what to do with all the trash that accumulates over the holiday season,” Barren County Solid Waste stated on social media. “We make every attempt to help the citizens of Barren County when we can [and] this also helps our waste haulers from bombarded.”
The free one-day event will take place from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the lower lot of the Barren County Road Department. Dumpsters will be removed at 4 p.m.
Appliances, couches, dressers, mattresses and recliners are some large items that are allowed during this time however tires, batteries, liquids, paints, oils, and pesticides will not be accepted.
The department asks that you bag small items as loose items will not be accepted. They also ask that you bring help to unload your garbage.
The Barren County Road Department is located at 150 County Barn Road.
