Juanita “Nita” Cole

Juanita “Nita” Cole, age 89, of Cedar Spring, departed this life on Friday, April 2, 2021 at her residence. The Edmonson County native was born on June 16, 1931 to the late Norman Chesteen and Mary Elizabeth France Cutliff. She was married to her best friend and the love of her life, Charles E. Cole, who preceded her in death.

Juanita was a true southern lady, and an exceptional cook.  She adored her family and cherished their times spent making memories together at her home.   Juanita retired as the food services manager from Park Mammoth Resort,  Cave City Convention Center and worked for many years with her niece, Seretta, at the HillTop Restaurant.  She was a member of Cedar Hill United Baptist Church and Rocky Hill #279 O.E.S.

She  leaves to honor her memory– one daughter, Janice Johnson (Garrold) of Cedar Springs; one son, James Edward “Butch” Cole (Sherri) of Cedar Springs; ten grandchildren; four brothers, Bobby Cutliff (Mary), David Cutliff (Linda), Phillip Cutliff (Janice) and Ronnie Cutliff (Kathy); one sister, Doris Gleason; a special niece, Valerie Steinlander along with several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Dewayne “Pete” Cole and two sisters, Evelyn Peggy Cole and Jenny Lawrence.

 

Services for Nita Cole will be Tuesday at 1 pm at Cedar Hill United Baptist Church

Interment will be in Lambert Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 pm, Sunday, April 4, 2021 and 10 am – 7 pm, Monday, April 5, 2021

at Patton Funeral Home Brownsville Chapel.  And 10 am – 1 pm, Tuesday, April 6, 2021

at Cedar Hill United Baptist Church
