Barren Countians are invited to attend the Bigfoot Festival in Park City Saturday, Oct. 12
The event will feature a variety of activities and notable guest speakers, making it an engaging event for Bigfoot enthusiasts of all ages.
One of the speakers is Amy Bue, co-founder of Project Zoobook, a research group that collaborates with scientists and Bigfoot investigators to explore evidence related to the mysterious creature. Bue, who became involved in Bigfoot research after a personal sighting in Ohio, now speaks nationally about her findings.
Project Zoobook also focuses on conservation efforts to preserve potential Bigfoot habitats.
According to the North American Wood Ape Conservancy, “The…conservancy is a scientific-research organization dedicated to studying the North American wood ape, the animal many people call ‘Bigfoot’ or ‘Sasquatch.’”
Another featured speaker is Adam Davies, a British explorer known for his work investigating cryptids across the globe. Davies has participated in expeditions on multiple continents, seeking evidence of creatures like the Yeti and Orang Pendek, and is recognized as a prominent figure in cryptozoology.
Bigfoot, also known as Sasquatch, has been a subject of fascination across North America, with sightings reported from coast to coast.
Kentucky, with its dense forests, is no stranger to Bigfoot lore. Reports of sightings in the state date back to the 19th century, including a story involving frontiersman Daniel Boone, who allegedly encountered and killed a creature he referred to as a “Yahoo,” which some believe was an early reference to Bigfoot.
The festival, which will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature a Bigfoot Howl Contest, storytelling sessions, and a Q&A with the guest speakers. The event will also have a Kids Corner and opportunities for families to engage with the world of Bigfoot.
Local officials, such as city commissioner Mike Burgess, have expressed their excitement for the festival during a recent Park City Commission meeting, emphasizing the potential to attract visitors.
