Barren River’s Lakeshore Clean Up Day approaches

This year Barren River Lake’s Lakeshore Clean Up Day will happen Saturday, September 21 from 8:00 a.m. until noon; This has been a September tradition since 1992.

“Friends of Barren River Lake & Park (FOBRLP) have brought thousands of volunteers to the shores of the lake for what was once called Trashmasters Classic Lakeshore Cleanup.

The nonprofit’s mission, which is “conservation, communication, education“ has been an instrumental, part of organizing these efforts along with a US, Army Corps of Engineers, Kentucky Fish & Wildlife and and local government.

This year they will be free lunch for all who participate and $50 gas cards for boat drivers along with other “big prizes”.

They are requesting volunteers to collect lakeshore trash, pontoon boats and drivers to shuttle volunteers to and fro, Jon boats and drivers to shuttle trash, and ramp volunteers.
