In a heartfelt ceremony today, Glasgow and Barren County officials honored Alan Wells, a well-known local figure, by proclaiming August 23, 2024, as “Live Like Alan Wells Day.” The proclamation, which coincides with Wells’ 43rd birthday, recognizes his boundless enthusiasm for life, his resilience, and his unwavering positivity. Wells, a dedicated supporter of Barren County Trojans sports and a 12-year member of the Rockerz Dance Team, has made a profound impact on his community.
Wells is not only celebrated for his fervent support of local athletes, but also for his extraordinary ability to uplift and inspire those around him. His dedication to making a difference and spreading joy has become a source of inspiration for the entire community. In addition to his love for sports, Wells actively participates in Special Olympics events, further showcasing his passion for inclusion and advocacy.
The Rockerz Dance Team, of which Wells is a key member, was founded in Bowling Green and has grown to include members from six different counties. The team advocates for individuals with Down syndrome, demonstrating through their performances that they are more alike than different. The proclamation encourages all community members to embody Wells’ example of living life to the fullest and overcoming challenges with optimism and courage.
“Alan Wells is renowned for living life with exuberance, resilience, and unwavering positivity,” the proclamation reads. “Through his actions and spirit, Alan Wells has made a profound and positive impact on his community by facing adversity with grace and inspiring others to do the same.”
Today’s celebration is a reminder of the difference one person can make. As Glasgow continues to grow, Alan Wells’ legacy of positivity and inclusivity stands as an example to us all.
