Shelley Flowers, 60, of Bowling Green passed away August 16, 2024 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky surrounded by her loving family.
The Bowling Green native was born June 16, 1964 to Mary Virginia Kirby Payne, who survives. Shelley was an active member of the Bowling Green Buddy House. She attended the Lions Handicap School. Shelley loved to dance and loved life in general. She never met a stranger and always had a smile on her face as seen through the hundreds of friends she has gained in life.
In addition to her mother, she is also survived by her sisters, Sherry Lynn Croslin of Bowling Green, Sonja Pardue (Jerry) of Bowling Green, and Jenni Anderson (Scott) of White House, Tennessee; brothers, Freddy Payne (Ruth) of Raleigh, North Carolina and John Payne of Bowling Green; nieces and nephews, Jerry Pardue, Tierra Vincent, Breanna Hartley, and Hannah Hudson; uncle, Bob Kirby (Norma Jean) of Bowling Green; aunts, Nell Peperis of Bowling Green, Marilou Skaggs of Brownsville, and Sandra Wooten of Bowling Green; and several great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and a million friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the J.C. Kirby & Son Broadway Chapel with visitation from 2 until 7 p.m. Monday and after 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made to Down Syndrome of South Central Kentucky Buddy House.
