Mary Doris (Rhoton) Dicken, 80, of Gamaliel, KY, passed away Tuesday, August 6th, surrounded by her family at her home.
Doris was born in Monroe County, KY on October 14, 1943, a daughter of the late Ruby (Wood ) and Estel Rhoton.
On June 30, 1962, she married Eugene “Bear” Dicken. Bear preceded her in death on May 22, 2017. She had worked at Garment Factories & Frances Bar-B-Q, she was the happiest when she was cooking, going to church, taking care of others especially her grand babies. she was a member at Freedom #2 Missionary Baptist Church.
Doris is survived by two daughters, Sherry Kilmon, and husband, Doyle, of Hestand, KY; Eugenia Kay Dicken, all of Tompkinsville, KY; and two sons Ricky Darrell “Little Bear” Dicken and James “Andy” Dicken both of Gamaliel, 14 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Doris is also survived by two brothers, Newman Rhoton, and wife, Carol of Tompkinsville, KY and William Rhoton, and wife, Diane of Nashville, TN.
Other than her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Thomas and Clifton Rhoton and one sister, Lorene Bryant.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM Saturday, August 10th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home, with burial to follow at Beech Grove Cemetery.
Visitation is Friday 5 to 9 PM and Sat. 8 AM to 2 PM at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris’ memory may be made to Beech Grove Cemetery.
