Gary Lynn “Speedy” Trivett, 67, of Mt. Hermon, KY passed away Tuesday, August 6th, at TJ Samson Community Hospital.
Gary was born in Monroe County, KY on March 6, 1957, a son of the late Arene (Gentry ) and J.T. Trivett.
He married Brenda (Turner) Trivett on July 27, 1978 at the Poplar Log Church in Barren County. Brenda preceded him in death on October 28, 2019.
Gary was a retired mill worker and farmer. He enjoyed anything outdoors; hunting, fishing, gardening, riding his Harley and especially being with his grandchildren.
Gary is survived by a daughter, Bessie Wood, and husband, Larry, of Lucas, KY;
two sons, Matthew Trivett, and wife, Ashley, of Tompkinsville, KY and Brian Trivett, of Tompkinsville, KY; 3 grandchildren, Madison, Taylor and Logan and was expecting his first great granddaughter, Rylee Brook Lynn Newport.
Gary is also survived by three sisters, Renay Trivett, of Mt. Herman, KY; Lisa Greever, of Glasgow, KY; Audrey Kurtz, of Glasgow, KY and a brother, Leon “Buzz” Trivett, of Tompkinsville, KY.
Other than his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie and Timmy Trivett.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9th at Yokley Trible Funeral Home in Tompkinsville, KY, with burial to follow at Trivett Cemetery at the Trivett Homeplace.
Visitation is Thursday, 5-8 p.m., and Friday, 8:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Yokley Trible Funeral Home.
