The Park City Commissioner’s Meeting is set to hold its next meeting on August 5th, at 6 p.m. at Park City Hall, located at 41 Mammoth Cave Avenue. This meeting will cover a range of important topics affecting the community.
The meeting will commence with the call to order, roll call, Pledge of Allegiance, and a prayer. Following these formalities, the minutes from the previous meeting held on July 1st will be reviewed and approved, and the financial report will be presented.
Several reports from various city officials and commissioners will follow:
- Mayor Larry Poteet will provide an update on administration.
- Commissioner D. Scavo will discuss maintenance issues.
- Commissioner M. Burgess will cover planning and zoning, Cave Country Trails, and activities of the Tourism & Convention Commission.
- Commissioner G. Carroll will report on matters concerning the Barren County Sheriff’s Office and the Park City Volunteer Fire Department.
- Commissioner A. Scavo will talk about the cemetery, senior center, and Bell’s Tavern.
The agenda will then move to old business, which includes the second reading of Ordinance 11-24, an amendment to the current Park City Zoning Ordinance.
In new business, several new ordinances will be introduced and discussed:
- Ordinance No. 12-24: Changing certain road names within the city limits.
- Ordinance No. 13-24: Naming a new road “Chris Martin Way.”
- Ordinance No. 14-24: Amending the code of ordinances to increase the business license fee and establish a renewal schedule.
Additional items on the agenda include discussions about quotes for a fence at Bell’s Tavern Playground, the purchase of a radar gun for the second deputy, and a new sound system for Bell’s Tavern Park.
The meeting is expected to conclude with an anticipated closed session under KRS 61.810(b) to deliberate on the future acquisition or sale of real property by a public agency, where public discussion could affect the value of the property.
