Mr. Glen Edward Thacker of Burkesville, Kentucky, formerly of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Monday, July 29, 2024, at the Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, Kentucky, having attained the age of 81 years, and 14 days. He was born on Thursday, July 15, 1943 in Burkesville, Kentucky, the son of Eli & Polly Ann (Wright) Thacker. He was of the Christian faith, and worked as a welder operator for G.M. for many years.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brothers, Sherman W. Thacker, Radford K. Thacker, and Jimmie Thacker, nephew, Dustin Thacker, father-in-law, Ronald Walker, mother-in-law, Ruth Helen Walker, brothers-in-law, Danny Thrasher and Justin J. Garner, and niece, Shelly Thrasher.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Lou (Norris) Thacker, whom he married on Saturday, February 17, 1962, daughter, Tammy R. Thacker (& Dewayne Dicken) of Indianapolis, Indiana, special nephew Danny Joe Thacker of Burkesville, Kentucky, grandchildren, Kyle Willis, Korey Willis, Kayla Franklin, and great-grandchildren, Reece Franklin, Aria Willis, and Alaina Franklin.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. in the Memory Chapel of the Norris-New Funeral Home. The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 3, 2024 beginning at 11:30 a.m., until the Memorial hour.
