Barbara Jean Sledge, 81, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully at her residence on Friday, July 26, 2024. The Louisville native was a daughter of the late S.B. Dossey and Ovaleta Sledge Dossey and was preceded in death by a nephew, Greg Dossey.
Barbara was the owner and operator of Mo’s Grocery and had been employed by Houchens Industries. She was a graduate of Alvaton High School and a member of Rocky Springs Missionary Church.
She is survived by her husband, Elmo Sledge; a daughter, Patty Turner (Brent); a grandchild, Ethan Turner (Kasey); two great grandchildren, Sutton Turner and Raegan Turner; one brother, David Dossey.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at 11:00 am at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery in Allen County, KY. Visitation will be on Monday, July 29, 2024 from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am to 11:00 am Tuesday, at the funeral home.
