Detra Annette Gipson Hughes

Detra Annette Gipson Hughes was born, September 3, 1960, in Bowling Green, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Freddie Gipson and Marie Burton Gipson. Detra was a graduate of Bowling Green High School and worked as a General Laborer for several years. Detra was a member of Taylor Chapel AME Church. She loved to spend time with her family and friends. A true jewel to be around, whether playing a good card game or just laughing, talking and having a good time.

As the afternoon hour was moving into the day, Saturday, July 20, 2024, Detra was called from this world we know at the age of 63 years, 10 months and 17 days.

To cherish the memory of Detra Annette Gipson- Hughes she leaves her sister and brothers, Brenda (Mike) Williams, Tony (Nne) Ragland, Jimmy (Larissa) Ragland, Roger Ray, Steven (Retha) Bradshaw, Michael Gipson and Billy Gipson; beloved friend, Russell Hughes; special niece, Lisa Smith; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Detra was preceded in death along with her parents by her sisters and brothers, Freida Marshall, Phyllis Gipson, Donald Alexander and Kenneth Ray.
