Nancy Carol McAfee Puryear of Greensburg, Kentucky, daughter of the late Pauley McAfee and Flossie Skaggs McAfee, was born on Friday, September 29, 1939 in Green County and departed this life on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at the T.J. Samson Hospital in Glasgow. She was 84 years, 9 months, and 22 days of age.
She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of the Ladies Chapel Church. She was a bank clerk over several years, starting with the former Greensburg Deposit Bank, also the Citizens National Bank, Bank One, First Security, Heritage Bank and retired from Community Trust Bank located in Danville, Kentucky. She was a member of the Gideon Ladies Auxiliary in Danville, Kentucky and the Ladies Boyle County jail ministry. But, most of all, she was also known for being the best Nana around.
Survived by her husband of 66 years, Leslie “Les” Puryear of Greensburg, having united in marriage on May 1, 1958.
Other survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law: Anne Leslie and Billy Matney of Green County, and Angela and Lance Radebaugh of Lexington; a son and daughter-in-law: David and Erika Puryear of Paris, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Ambre (Austin) Gurley, Blake (Johanna) Radebaugh, Matthew (Julietta) Puryear, Lindsey Puryear; great-grandchildren: Carson Hayes, Wesley Radebaugh, Addison Gurley, Sophia Beasley, Alayna Gurley, and Asher Gurley; a sister: Charlotte Velez of Elizabethtown; a brother: Ken McAfee of South Carolina; her sweet baby dog: Abby; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a sister: Barbara Geraldine McAfee; a brother: Milford Graham McAfee; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Gus Velez and Lillie McAfee.

The funeral services for Nancy Carol McAfee Puryear will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Central Time, Friday, July 26, 2024 at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery. Bro. Garnett Wayne Davis officiating.
Visitation is requested from 4 P.M. until 8 P.M., Central Time, Thursday at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home and after 7 A.M., Friday until time of the funeral service.
The family has asked that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Gideon Bible Fund, which can be made at the funeral home.
